Chlamydia

The Healgen Chlamydia Rapid Test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of the sexually transmitted infection, Chlamydia, in human genital swabs, urine. It is intended to be used as a screening test and as an aid in the diagnosis of infection.

Chlamydia is caused by the bacterial infection of Chlamydia trachomatis. Symptoms depend on gender but can be generalized by inflammation of the genitalia, discharge and a burning sensation during urination.  In women the infection can migrate to the upper genital tract, which can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease and can lead to infertility.
