EGYSILK
EGYSILK suture is a sterile natural non-absorbable surgical suture obtained from organic protein called fibroin. This protein is derived from the domesticated species Bombyx mori. Silk material for braiding is processed to remove the natural waxes and gums. EGYSILK sutures are either braided multifilament coated with wax or silicon that have been found to be inert, nonantigenic, and nonpyrogenic. or monofilament.
EGYSILK sutures are available both dyed (black) and undyed. The undyed EGYSILK is milk white (beige) in color.
Virgin silk is not processed to remove the sercin gum, it is available dyed (blue) with methylene blue or (black) with haematin HCK. EGYSILK meets all requirements established by the United States pharmacopoeia (USP) and the European pharmacopoeia (EP).
