Passive Magnetic Shielding

Magnetic shielding prevents magnetic fields generated by MR systems (fringe fields) from reaching areas around MR site.

Magnetic shields are required to fulfill international and local confinement of fringe fields standards for safety, adapt installation site conditions to MR system specifications and improve site boundary conditions.

For 20 years, ITEL has been designing, manufacturing and installing custom magnetic shields for MR applications, providing each unique case with careful analysis, aiming at confinement of fringe lines in compliance with the field homogeneity index in the MR investigation volume through a custom design, 3D Finite Element simulation and project updating process.
