The presence of hemoglobin in feces can be indicative of gastrointestinal tract conditions associated with bleeding, such as colorectal carcinoma, colon polyps, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis.
Patient collection process
Make bowel movement onto collection paper.
Introduce the collection stick into the feces specimen in several different places.
Gently wipe the stick with a sterile cloth.
Reinsert the stick into the tube, tightly screwing on the top.
Mail tube securely with specimen to your physician.
Physician testing process
Open envelope containing patient specimen.
Vigorously shake the tube.
Holding the tube upright, unscrew and remove cap.
Dispense four drops of solution into the sample well “S” of the test device.
Wait five minutes and read the results.
Result Reading (results in 5 minutes)
Read the test result at five minutes. A single rose-pink band will always appear in the control zone. In the case of a positive result, a rose-pink band will appear in the test zone
