i-gel® - single use supraglottic airway from Intersurgical

The i-gel® is the innovative second generation supraglottic airway device from Intersurgical.  The first major development since the laryngeal mask airway, i-gel has changed the face of airway management and is now widely used in anaesthesia and resuscitation across the globe. 

Made from a medical grade thermoplastic elastomer, the i-gel has been designed to create a non-inflatable, anatomical seal of the pharyngeal, laryngeal and perilaryngeal structures whilst avoiding compression trauma. i-gel is currently available in seven sizes and is supplied in an innovative, colour-coded polypropylene protective cradle or cage pack. 

Featuring all known clinical evidence on the i-gel®, the second edition of the bibliography compiles studies, case reports and correspondence on the performance of the device in anaesthesia, difficult airway management and resuscitation.  There are now over 250 published studies, case reports and correspondence on i-gel and these have been built into an online evidence database so they can be searched for by author, journal, scenario, date, topic, evidence type plus key words - take a look!
