Food Science detection of foodborne pathogens

Food Science: intoxications and infections caused by foodborne pathogens represent an increasing public health problem. Thus, microbiological quality control programs applied throughout food chain production are needed. Our product line is based on the real-time PCR technology for the rapid and sensitive detection of Salmonella spp., L. monocytogenes and Shiga Toxin producing E. coli from food samples, resulting in a valid and suitable alternative to the long and laborious traditional methods.

The innovative Multipathogen platform allows to detect Salmonella, Listeria and E.coli O157 in the same samples using an unique enrichment medium for the three bacteria reducing cost per sample and time for analysis.

Grain quantitative kit: the assay is intended to quantify the adulteration of soft wheat in durum wheat- based products by quantitative Real-Time PCR, contributing to a correct labelling of food composition and high quality products. The kit is based on the detection of DNA, an excellent molecular marker since it is more stable than other components even when subjected to technological processes in food industry.
