illumigene Chlamydia by Meridian Bioscience Catalog Number: 280450 Product Description DNA Amplification Assay for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis. The illumigene Chlamydia (CT) assay, performed on the illumipro-10, is an in vitro diagnostic device for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis in physician-collected (or other trained medical professional) endocervical swabs, patient-collected vaginal swab specimens from clinical settings, male urine specimens and female urine specimens. The illumigene CT assay utilizes loop-mediated isothermal DNA amplification (LAMP) technology to detect Chlamydia trachomatis by targeting a segment of the Chlamydia trachomatis genome. Results from the illumigene CT assay can be used as an aid in the diagnosis of chlamydial urogenital infection in asymptomatic and symptomatic individuals.
